El Anatsui Earth-Moon Connexions, 1993 Wood and paint 90 x 84.4 cm 96-17-1, purchased with funds provided by the Smithsonian Collections Acquisition Program By judiciously using color to enhance the gridwork designs on these boards of wood, Anatsui created a landscape that evokes the seasonal cycle of the moon and its effect on human activities.
