The overall effect of this piece resembles kente cloths from Ghana. The similarities are most noticeable in the vertical stripes, which contrast with typical Zemmour pieces that have horizontal bands. This suggests that the weaver may have been influenced by the composition of kente cloths. This piece is also unique because the motifs and patterns are more simply woven than other Zemmour textiles.
