b. 1968, Ethiopia
Etiyé Dimma Poulsen lived in Ethiopia until the age of six, when she moved to Tanzania and then to Kenya with her adoptive Danish parents. At the age of 14, the family moved to Denmark, where Poulsen studied art history at the university and taught creative arts in youth programs. At 23, Poulsen moved to France and began working with clay. Poulsen maintains a studio outside of Paris, where she lives and works.
