Video loans
Videos available in VHS and DVD are available for three-week loans throughout the year. Please allow two weeks for delivery and limit your request to two videos. Yoruba Potters: Mothers and Daughters - Ogbena Compound
Potters of the World Film series

Finely edited documentary of Yoruba craftswomen and their remarkable pottery-building skills. The film documents the process of hand building a knob-lidded, round-bottom vessel (isasun ) ideal for cooking over an open fire and essential to village life in southwest Nigeria. Filmed in situ over four months in collaboration with Professor Olaoye, University of Ilorin, Nigeria.

Masters of Brass: Lost-Wax Casting in Ghana

Nagayati: Arts and Architecture among the Gabra Nomads of Kenya

African Cosmos

Curriculum resources

This unit is designed to accompany the exhibition African Cosmos: Stellar Arts. The lesson plans are organized by grade--pre-K-K, 1-4, and 5-8--around the themes of the exhibition. Topics include celestial symbols, earth-sky connections, constellations, cultural stories, and cosmic models that can be used in cross-disciplinary units in science, astronomy, social studies, math, and history.
