Access to and use of National Museum of African Art/Smithsonian Institution image files and
data are subject to the following terms and conditions:

Image files from the National Museum of African Art (NMAfA) of the Smithsonian Institution (SI) are made available for noncommercial, personal or educational use only. The files may be downloaded for personal use only or for educational use within the meaning of the doctrine of "fair use," but any other use requires additional permission from NMAfA, which must be obtained in writing. Permission is required in advance from NMAfA before a Smithsonian Institution image may be used on a web page. Copying, redistributing or publishing image files in any manner for commercial gain is not permitted.

The Smithsonian Institution specifically retains any rights, including copyright, which it may have in files, data, and/or the images contained on this site. These electronic image files, documentation and software materials may also be covered by the rights of others such as copyright, trademark, other intellectual property rights and additional restrictions. The use of these image files and data without permission from the rights holders may violate the rights of others. The Smithsonian makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the copyright status of these image files and data.

Neither NMAfA nor SI is responsible for any errors created in or damage to the materials as a result of their use. All materials maintained are provided "as is" with no warranties of any kind.
